Want radiant, glowing skin? Here’s how.
So many of us mistakenly believe we’re either born with naturally radiant skin, or we have to spend big bucks to get it. So not true!
There’s nothing like having that healthy looking ‘glow’, the type that does’t come from luminescent makeup but the kind of glowing skin you don’t want to cover up with makeup. So how do you find our way to a glowing, dewy, and unblemished complexion?
Simple Tips To Get You Glowing
1. Exfoliate weekly.
Exfoliation is key to beautiful, radiant skin. The best way to exfoliate naturally at home is to take one tablespoon of raw organic coconut oil and mix it with one teaspoon of cane sugar to make your own scrub. Gently apply to face and neck in circular motions and rinse with warm water.
We recommend doing this 1-2 times per week.
2. Apply a nighttime mask.
Our skin does the most healing while we sleep, so this is the very best time to give your face (and body!) some extra help. Apply a thin layer of your favorite hydrating mask over your evening moisturizer.
DIY Face Mask: Take one avocado and mash it into a pulp + add a touch of raw honey. Make sure the honey is raw, preferably Manuka. Spread evenly on your face and let sit for at least 5-10 minutes. When you want to remove the mask, gently wipe your face with a warm, wet cloth. So simple but so incredibly nourishing for the skin!
3. Eat plenty of superfoods.
We are what we eat. If you want really amazing skin that truly glows, you have to eat a diet rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that also contains anti-inflammatory and healing nutrients. Organic fruits and veggies + nutrient-dense superfoods are the name of the game here. Beauty really does begin from within!
4. Drink lots of water.
This seems to be the answer to almost everything right? Well… it is! Water is truly the fountain of youth. So many people become dehydrated by not drinking enough water and this has a dramatic effect on your skin’s appearance.
How much water should you be drinking? Take your body weight and divide it by two. That’s how many ounces of water you should be drinking daily. Especially in the summer!
5. Wear sunscreen.
Really and truly one of the most ESSENTIAL factors in any healthy skincare routine is sunscreen! The sun’s harmful UV rays are potentially the most damaging thing for your skin so you must stay protected. A few minutes of sun daily is okay, especially to soak up some of that essential vitamin D3, but don’t be in direct sunlight unprotected for more than 5-10 minutes max. We’ll be posting all about our favorite sunscreens soon so stay tuned.
